Bombs away!

mcbgb

Which is nice. But it is only Google UK which returns this as the top result.

If you want to help, you know what to do.

UPDATE: Just as a reminder of the self-important clownishness of the MCB, here’s Sir Iqbal Sacranie yesterday on the Radio 4’s PM programme, talking about homosexuality:

It does not augur well in building the very foundations of society: stability, family relationships. And it is something we would certainly not in any form encourage the community to be involved in.
[…]
Certainly it is a practice that in terms of health, in terms of the moral issues that comes along in a society, it is. It is not acceptable.

Each of our faiths tells us that it is harmful and, I think, if you look into the scientific evidence that has been available in terms of the forms of various illnesses and diseases that are there, surely it points out that where homosexuality is practised there is a greater concern in that area.

How childish: I’m sure this will really inform opinion and win hearts and minds.

  2. sconzey says:

Hmmm, it’s becoming readily apparent that the focus in citezenship is misplaced.

The three things you require to live in Britain (I wish):
    1. A sense of humor.
    2. An appreciation of satire.
    3. An appreciation of the phrase “When in rome…”

  3. Ricardo says:

So, you’re suggesting the above is just “satire”? Isn’t satire supposed to be witty?

  4. Monitor says:

Ricardo, you are missing the point entirely. The purpose of this site is not to “inform opinion” and certainly not to “win hearts and minds”. Read the “about” text. The purpose of this site is to monitor and ridicule religiously-motivated opponents of free expression.

If you don’t like it… well, I won’t insult your intelligence by making the obvious suggestion.

  5. I have to say, as Google bombs go I’m not sure this is the greatest ever. Sure it’s amusing, but it’s political impact is nill. If you could make a circus or similar the top result when people searched for the MCB that’d be another matter.

Let Iqbal Sacraine have his views on homosexuality. This is free country where we have free speech.
However, I wonder if he would afford me free speech if I said his views were a load of bollox driven by his Islamafascistic attitude.
I don’t reckon so and bet he would be on the blower to the boys in blue demanding I be arrested for “hate crime”.

  7. Andrew Nixon says:

Of course he would. According to homophobe, death sentence on Salman Rushdie supporting, disagreeing with holocaust memorial day, “moderate” Muslim Sacranie, anyone who critices Islam is Islamophobic.

  8. Dan Factor says:

Agreed. But that’s the thing with people like him. His fellow Muslims can say anything they like no matter how objectionable other social groups (different faiths, non faiths, gays etc) may find it and he don’t give a toss.
But if anyone criticised his fellow Muslims for such views he will attack them, brand them Islamphobic and want them censored by law.

  9. Andrew Nixon says:

To be serious for a second, it really is sad. The MCB do campaign against bigotry towards Muslims. And to some extent that is a laudable goal. I’m sure we all agree that to deny someone the same oppurtunities as the rest of us simply because of their relgion is just plain wrong. Sadly, with this comment, Sacranie has shown that he is just as much of a bigot as those he campaigns against. (the genuine bigots, I mean, not the people who criticise him)
