British Muslim group calls for death of cartoonists

danish embassy protes
A recently-formed Muslim group calling themselves Al Ghurabaa have called for those who “insult Muhammad” to be killed. The London-based group registered their domain only last month, and hold regular local lectures and stalls.

From an article on their website:

The insulting of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) is something that the Muslims cannot and will not tolerate and the punishment in Islam for the one who does so is death. This is the sunnah of the prophet and the verdict of Islam upon such people, one that any Muslim is able execute.

They are protesting outside the Danish Embassy today. Picture above courtesy of New Humanist Magazine.

    Relgion of peace my arse.

  2. Tallen says:

Ironic that the free and demoncratic society that they hate so much protects their right to spout such hatred.

  3. Joe says:

Marvellous. Talk about a deeply, deeply fucked set of priorities. Drawing lines on a page in an unapproved manner is evil; actually murdering people is fine and dandy.

  4. Jay Andrews says:

and they wonder why they get called extremists…

  5. Fiona Rose says:

They don’t wonder why they’re called extremists, that’s the problem. They know what they are doing is far and beyond the bounds of the true religion and statements of Islam and the Koran. These extremists are acting in the same mannerisms that “Christians” acted to urge the Crusades. This is their excuse to insight terror and cause murder and mayhem. Imagine if we were to take our news media, gather militant groups together, and threaten to destroy mosques, Mecca, etc. We’d be immediately condemned and told that we were criminals. These people use religion as a legal shield in their countries to conduct illegal activities.

  6. skp says:

Ironic they do are allowed to make death threats. They need to be sent back to their islamic countries. They have no rights in their own bloody countries and come to the west only to bomb the place they live in!

  7. […] I wonder if the inbred idiots from Al-Ghurabaa will be arrested for inciting to kill others. Mediawatchwatch has more on this Sky News screengrab with a placard asking for people to be “massacred”. How charming. […]

  8. Jensen says:

Funny! British Muslims have more freedom of expression then British media – hmm something’s not right here!?!

  9. […] According to Mediawatchwatch, a recently-formed band of British-based Muslim extremists calling themselves ‘Al Ghubaraa’ are calling for the death of the cartoonists responsible. How nice of them. Can we not prosecute these utter scum of the fucking earth people for making death threats or would it be ‘racist’ to do so? […]

  10. pawan kumar says:

massacre those who insult islam? no wonder who’s preaching that all, Muhammad a terrorist himself.

  11. G. Tingey says:

Quote “Hitchiker” at them: – “Go and stick your head(s) in a pig”

  12. someone says:

Stupid murderous muslims. Just goes to show you shouldn’t believe in a false prophet who marries 9 year olds. Idiots.

  13. Mauricio says:

    Ok…
The Muslims are coming to west countries to try a better life. But the funny is: after that… they think have the right to change the system that made the life better in west countries…FREEDOM, LIBERTY and JUSTICE. And things like the sentence: “I do not agree with what you saying, but I’ll fight for your right of say it!”
Those are values of the west countries, right or wrong it’s not the matter, it works for us!
I’m from Brazil. Life is not so good over there, I’m trying to live and enjoy the life in Britain. Why can’t they do that? Why they want to change everything?
Ancient Uniforms of traditional schools are changing because they do not fit their culture, what about the WEST IDENTITY? What about Christmas? And Easter? This is west culture…
What is going to Happen to me if I’m going to a Arabic country and send my daughter to their schools using a “BRASILIAN” T-shirt and shorts (it’s “suits” the hot weather – I could say), Will they be so patient to my kids as the European countries are been to theirs?
They say that is disrespect to their culture… What about the statue of BUDA in Afghanistan that Muslim GOVERNAMENT did blow up??? Wasn’t that disrespect?
Sorry… The Muslim is wrong… They are trying to have an apology by the menace of more terror… Is it right?
By the way… is it an offence to do something that you don’t know is wrong? I never heard about the offence that is to draw a picture of their prophet… In my religion is an offence (and very serious – like you go straight to hell) to kill… And Islam is the religion that is killing more around the globe!!! A war happens (that’s woeful) but do not put the name of god as an excuse for POLITICAL stuff (the war is about money…if everybody could have something to loose, nobody was going to bet…)
Well, I’m in England now, I’m trying to life the English life in a Brazilian style – but it’s still the English life!!! I don’t want to fit this country to me, but fit me on this country!!! IN ROMAN DO LIKE THE ROMANS!!!

  15. marc says:

Here we fucking go! So fucking what? Go tell “God” and see if he strikes us all down, you arseholes! At least if that happened, we’d have some proof….

  16. Andy Gilmour says:

Is anyone/does anyone know of a lawyerly type who could advise on the plausibility of a private prosecution?

Clear incitement to violence both on their site, and also on demonstration in London…??

How many complaints to the Met police would it take to force an investigation?

Ah well. Looks like this really could be the BIG showdown. Very worrying the number of illogical “Of course we have freedom of speech but we shouldn’t use it” comments I’ve seen/heard on web & media already…

    Who are these people specifically

On what street do they live
    Who do they associate with
They obviously have nothing to give

    Except intense dangerous fanaticism
A dedication to an all consuming hate
He who does not monitor this nest of vipers
Does invite upon themselves a deadly fate

Islam is a crock religion anyways. Mohamed was a nutjob
who did more to befowl other faiths than he ever did to enlighten. Is it any wonder these fruits are coming out of the woodwork? I say its time to unbrainwash these people so they can at least live peacefully on the same planet with the rest of us.

  20. skp says:

Al Ghurabaa should be banned and its members arrested. How can they ask for people to be killed and get away?

  21. Andrew Nixon says:

Maybe short notice for most of us, but the National Secular Society are holding a pro-free speech demo in front of the Danish Embassy today at 11am.

  22. martyn says:

Ahh Bollox, I would have attended that as well.

  23. Rich Reilly says:

  24. NTW says:

Not to worry – I’ve heard there is another Pro-free speech rally scheduled for 11am next Saturday 11th Feb outside the Danish Embassy in London. Email all your friends and get them to pass the Email on. Lets have as many people there as possible!

  27. Andrew Nixon says:

Some idiot on Radio 2 was just saying that the protestors didn’t read what was on the cards and picked them up “by accident” and in any case, cards such as “Behead those who insult Islam” isn’t an expression of violence at all.

  28. martyn says:

Well there we go then, problem solved! The papers didn’t realise what the pictures were of, they just printed them!

  29. Paul says:

If the people of Al Ghurabaa should be arrested, then the Westboro Baptist Church should also be acted against, no? Granted, they campaign against homosexuality and advocate their deaths, not threaten to act upon their murderous desires, but still. They both will death upon their enemies.

  30. Agamemnon says:

The Moslem hypocracy in this “Cartoon-war” is dealt with at length at http://www.tightladies.com/blog2/blog2.htm

  31. Arif says:

Im appalled at some of the comments left by some narrow minded individuals who are brandishing all muslims with the same tarnished brush. I myself am a muslim and have been totally appalled at the way people have been behaving since the publication of the images (muslims mainly and non-muslims alike). I’ve seen the images and believe them to be offensive. However, it doesnt mean that we all feel the same way as a few small minded individuals who call for the deaths of people, who incidently also have the biggest mouths. I am totally for freedom of speech and while i find the images distasteful, they should be allowed to be printed. However, you have to bear in mind that if you riddicule someone’s fundamental beliefs (in Islam its forbidden to make images of Mohammed as its believed to be akin to Idoltry) then you have to expect a certain degree of people taking offense and this has only led to the extremists being able to convince other muslims that the west is completely prejudice against them. I’m also distressed that the cartoon played on peoples prejudices that all muslims are terrorists and this simply isnt so.

This doesnt excuse the behaviour of extremists (like that idiot former crack dealer who needs to be shot), so please dont think that i am suggesting in any shape or form that narrow minded comments made by the handful of extremists are acceptable, these people are narrow minded and purely have THEIR OWN AGENDA! and have nothing to do with the teachings and followings of Islam.

Its time for people to start putting asides their narrow minded views (muslims especially and non-muslims alike) and for people to establish a dialogue, so that all parties involved can have a better understanding of one another.

  32. skp says:

Arif, I agree with your moderate voice and logic. But the fact is that there are fanatics in every faith and Islam has the largest number of fanatics. Violence has been linked to Islam in people’s minds permanently. Religious dogma makes people stupid and behave in this manner. As most people do not use their ability to think and question dogma this is the result. And there is no solution in sight as religion is the perfect tool for people to control some one else.

  33. nasir qureshi says:

dont you think, it would be better if you remove the posts which have been posted by the kaffirs.

  34. Ali says:

Isn’t the term ‘kaffir’ yet another form of abuse against non muslims. Don’t be telling me that it just means non believer, that’s rubbish. I’ve been working with an Asian group and they told me that they intend it to be abusive in an oblique kind of way.
For the record I desperately want to hear the sense behind what Arif is saying but there are all too few people like him/her. Secretly most muslims are brought up to believe that Westerners and non muslims are the enemy. I’m sick of it and I’ve had enough. They bomb us, they ridicule us, they abuse the benefits system – look at Hamza and his 5 bed house. I just did an estimate for an 8 room house in Stratford worth £750k owned by 3 muslim brothers, they all live in Council houses! They think they have the right to come here and take the piss, why, because we are all the infidels and it is their right. It’s got to stop or we will become a third world country. I say, if you’re a muslim then get out of England, go and live happily in a muslim country, then see how much you like it.

  35. Just how STUPID is this Fag Muhammad
Quotes from this little stupid greedy piggy.

Bukhari:V6B61N550 “The Prophet said, ‘It is a bad thing some of you say, “I have forgotten such-and-such verse of the Qur’an.” For truly, I have been caused by Allah to forget it. So you must keep on reciting the Qur’an because it escapes faster than a runaway camel.’”
Tabari I:299 “Scholars of the nation of our Prophet say, ‘The tree which Allah forbade Adam and his spouse to eat was wheat.’”
Tabari I:321 “When Eve became heavy with her first pregnancy, Satan came to her before she gave birth and said, ‘Eve, what is that in your womb?’ She said, ‘I do not know.’ He asked, ‘Where will it come out from-your nose, your eye, or your ear?’ She replied, ‘I do not know.’”
Tabari I:299 “It was the cover of fingernails that had kept their secret parts concealed.”
Tabari I:275 “Satan wanted to meet them in Paradise, but the keepers prevented him from entering. He went to a snake, an animal with four feet like a camel. Satan tried to persuade it to let him enter its mouth and take him to Adam. The snake agreed, passed by the keepers, and entered without their knowledge, because that was Allah’s plan.”
Tabari I:278 “Adam went inside the tree to hide. Eve cut the tree and it bled. Then feather that covered Adam and Eve dropped off. So Allah said, ‘Now Eve, as you caused the tree to bleed, you will bleed every new moon, and you, snake, I will cut off your feet and you will walk slithering on your face.’”
Tabari I:279 “It was a tree which made whoever ate from it defecate. But there must be no faeces in Paradise.”
Tabari I:281 “I heard him swear by Allah unequivocally, ‘As long as Adam was in his right mind, he would never have eaten from the tree. Eve gave him wine and got him drunk. She led him to the tree.”
Tabari I:267 “And Allah taught Adam all the names as follows: He taught him the name of everything, down to fart and little fart.”
Bukhari:V1B4N137 “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘The prayer of a person who does Hadath (passes urine, stool or wind) is not accepted till he performs ablution.’”
Bukhari:V1B4N139 “I asked Allah’s Apostle about a person who imagined they passed wind during prayer. He replied: ‘He should not leave his prayer unless he hears sound or smells something.’”
Bukhari:V1B4N156 “The Prophet said, ‘Whenever anyone makes water he should not hold his penis or clean his private parts with his right hand. While drinking, one should not breathe in the utensil.’”
Bukhari:V1B4N163 “The Prophet said, ‘Whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do it with an odd number of stones. And whoever wakes up should wash his hands before putting them in the water for ablution. Nobody knows where his hands were during sleep.’”
Bukhari:V1B4N174 “During the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle dogs used to urinate and pass through the mosque. Nevertheless they never used to sprinkle water on it.”
Tabari I:367 “The Apostles said to Jesus, ‘Would you send us a man who saw the ark and could tell us about it.’ He took a handful of the earth in his palm and asked, ‘Do you know what this is?’ ‘Allah and His prophet know best!’ they replied. Jesus said, ‘This is the grave of Noah’s son, Ham.’ He struck the hill with his staff and said, ‘Rise with Allah’s permission!’ And behold there was Ham, with gray hair, shaking the earth from his head. Jesus asked him whether he had perished in that state with gray hair. Ham replied, ‘No when I died, I was a young man, but I thought the Day of Doom had come, and my hair turned gray.’ Jesus said, ‘Tell us about Noah’s ark.’ He said, ‘It was 1,200 cubits long [nearly 4,000 feet] and 600 cubits wide. It had three stories, one for domestic and wild animals, another for human beings, and a third for birds. When the dung of the animals became excessive, Allah inspired Noah to tickle the elephant’s tail. He did, and a male and female hog fell down and attacked the dung. When the rat fell down into the seams of the planks of the ark and gnawed at them, Allah inspired Noah to strike the lion between its eyes and a male and female cat came out from its nose and attacked the rat.’”

  36. Homosexuality and ISLAM

Same-sex intercourse is allowed in Islam (Islam: The monotheistic religion of Muslims founded in Arabia in the 7th century and based on the teachings of Muhammad as laid down in the Koran) , which teaches that such intercourse is a wondeful act of nature set by Allah (Allah: Muslim name for God) (the Arabic (Arabic: The Semitic language of the Arabs; spoken in a variety of dialects) word for God (God: The supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe; the object of worship in monotheistic religions) ). Note that homosexuality, as an attraction, is not against the Sharia (Sharia: The code of law derived from the Koran and from the teachings and example of Mohammed) , which governs the physical actions, and not the inner thoughts and feelings. It is the physical action of same-sex intercourse that is favored under the Sharia

  37. LordofTheNazgul says:

As a voice from across the Atlantic (Canada), I too am fed-up with people (not just Muslims) who come to a Western country presumably to take advantage of its freedoms (why else would they want to leave their homogeneous Muslim societies?).

Somehow, extremists are also let in our countries. These extremists then attempt to impose their value system on ours. You want to keep your religious/cultural/social valuesz? Great! Perfect! That’s what our societies allow you to do. There are caveats to this, namely, that you cannot break OUR laws.

Death threats, can be a criminal and/or civil offence. England and any other country where this occurs, should watch those taped threats (they are THREATS, not protests), because they hold up quite well in court….

“You can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theatre…” Fair enough; however, when people figure out who yelled ‘fire’, they don’t go and dismember him or her.

I come to this country and your women dress like prostitutes and your men disgusts me pissing in the street. The spread of the Muslims is vast and far more powerful than your weak western culture. To all the people on this site we own you weak country.

  42. Zeynep says:

These cartoons wont be forgotten and forgiven keep that in mind …

  43. nasir says:

To Sag: excellent post mate, i agree with you. UK is full of corruption, where are the morals these
days? People drinking, sex, abortion, adultery, divorce, homosexuals, paedophilia, unjustified
killings, racism, pornography all on the increase.

  44. Andrew Nixon says:

You think that sex, drinking alcohol, and homosexuality is on a par with racism, murder and child abuse?

You are not free to talk to anyone about a lack of morals in that case.

  45. Rana Balsheh says:

Nixon, actually let’s talk about that..you obviously did not see the pictures of British soldiers beating up 3 little kids yesterday, i’m not gonna sit here and list all the crucial things that the British, American and all the other european soldiers are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m just giving a pretty recent example.I’m actually pretty sure you don’t even know about this since most european/Americans watch ONLY their media that doensnot post any of these things. Also, you’re talking about murder hmm how many SOLDIERS died in Iraq, compared to innocent citizens? incomparable number. And what child abuse are you talking about, we don’t have a micheal Jackson, i mean if you really want to see real statistics about child abuse just google it and see which countries have the highest rates. Oh yeah, you talked about racism too..it makes me laugh, but which countries started world war I and II, which countries were discriminating jews and blacks. I dont want to go over history here i think everybody knows the history of countries of racism/discrimination. Drinking alcohol.. atleast most arab/muslim countries have a MUCH smaller amount of accidents and incidents because of alcohol and finally homosexuality ..there are homosexuals in the middle east and other muslim countries ..they might not be preffered by some people ( just like they aren’t here in america and europe) but atleast we don’t go on and on about making fun of them in schools, on tv, and promoting hate against them!!!!

  46. Andrew Nixon says:

I’m sorry, but what has any of that got to do with what I just said?

  47. Andrew Nixon says:

Just to confirm what I said for you Rana.

Nasir equated homosexuality, sex and drinking alcohol with morally abhorrent acts such as racism, murder and child abuse.

I said that as he was doing that, he can not criticise anyone over a lack of morals.

there are homosexuals in the middle east and other muslim countries ..they might not be preffered by some people ( just like they aren’t here in america and europe) but atleast we don’t go on and on about making fun of them in schools, on tv, and promoting hate against them!!!!

Muslim countries don’t promote hate against homsexuals? Don’t make me laugh. Homosexuality carries the DEATH PENALTY in most muslim countries.

  48. Rana Balsheh says:

Oh i’m sorry Mr. Nixon because you lived there and i didnot so you know more i’m very sorry lol!!!!

  49. John B says:

Wake up Britain or else one day the flag of Islam will one day be flying over this once great country that millions have died to protect.Even the so called ‘moderate’ muslims are plotting to take over this land, its all part of their religion. The mainstream parties are now so liberal, limp wristed and crippled by political correctness to ever do anything about this ever more serious threat.Vote BNP and make a difference.Something has to be done quickly.
