I agree it's no surprise. Posting it was just an excuse to get Green's ridiculous claim that CV aren't a "rent-a-demo" in.

Sorry, but being of a Scottish (and recently ex-Edinburgh) persuasion, I have to say that this is a bit of a non-story...the Festival & Fringe often seem positively desperate to be attacked by the supernaturalists/peddlars of dubious "moral authority"...and how much cooler for a comedian does it get than to be able to say that someone tried to ban them for exercising freedom of speech?

When they were doing stuff like this back in 1967, well...
www.edfringe.com/story.html?id=122&area_id=35

There's also a nice wee story I can't track down a reference to, some details of which I may have wrong (corrections gratefully received)...

Many years ago, the Council were going to debate on whether to ban a show, when some of the performers strolled in to make a 'contribution'. One of them being a naked woman in a wheelchair...

Ah well.

Theological preferences of Popes, and defecatory behaviour in bears vis-a-vis forested areas, methinks...
