As a matter of public interest (seriously) what happened to "martyn" and his friend - since it was mistaken ID?

Were you just told to piss off, or did some compensation turn up?

Nojags has it there. A lot of things distress me - but I don't go whining to the rozzas every damn time. Fuck me, whatever happened to free speech?

I also read that the UK is the most surveilled society anywhere - not even the Russians or Americans come close; and we lack the privacy laws to protect us from snooping too. Where will it end?

Section 5 public order came in under the evil whore I believe. I was charged with it once for having the temerity of being a witness to a friends arrest and beating at the hands of some plain clothes officers on the tube.

Why did they assault my friend? Mistaken identity. On the bright side, they didn't fill him with 9mm rounds.

Thank you Stephen Fry. This quote has been posted on MWW more than once I'm sure, but it is so spot on I just had to give it another go.

This is just spiteful bullying, of the sort that the religious are so good at.

If it comes to court, it won't stand up, because all one has to do is read out the nasty bits of the koran - followed by collapse of case .....

But it is a disgraceful bit of dhimmitude.

I was reading some of the legal discussion at Harry's Place. Apparently, public order legislation outlaws behaviour that causes offence or distress. If that really is the case, we're absolutely stuffed because *everything* seems to give some muslims offence and distress. Jeez, the fact that the rest of us aren't muslims offends and distresses them. Come to think of it, I'm offended and distressed by *them*. The whole thing's astonishing.
