Zawahiri threatens “retaliation” over Rushdie knighthood
Cave-dwelling Koraniac Ayman al-Zawahiri has delivered a message from al-Qaida accusing the UK of defying the Muslim world by honouring Salman Rushdie, and threatening a “very precise” retaliation.
In a recorded message distributed to jihadi websites the al-Qaida number 2 address Gordon Brown directly:
The policy of your predecessor has brought tragedy and defeat upon you, not only in Afghanistan and Iraq but also in the centre of London.
And if you did not understand, listen, we are ready to repeat it for you, with the permission of Allah. We are sure that you have quite understood it.
Amusingly, Zawahiri claims that the knighthood was motivated by anger at the defeat of British forces in Iraq and Afghanistan – the Queen and Tony Blair are taking revenge by cursing the Muslim prophet.
You know you’re on the right track when you’re upsetting al-Qaida.
Does Zawahiri do stand up?
I still find it amusing when they say Rushdie insulted their prophet mohammed , I find the aforementioned prophets paedophile leanings even more offensive. Can I go blow myself up now?
He doesn’t get it. You can’t sit in a damp cave with a video camera, make demands on another fucking country, thousands of miles away. Especially one that you’re effectively at war with. To think that this guy is an MD is astonishing.
On the subject of this guy – does he remind anyone else of one of those hand puppets? I mean, we never see him move much more than his head…

Hey, let’s not be too hard on al-Zawahiri. Remember, a few years back, we gave a knighthood to that Sacranie fella who headed the Muslim Council of Britain who thought death was “too good” for Rushdie. He also denied the Holocaust and went swivel-eyed with rage over civil partnerships. People in UK immediately took to the streets to protest this knighthood. They danced up and down with rage, burned effigies ‘n flags ‘n things, and threw condoms filled with pig blood at the MCB headquarters. Or did I just dream that …?
@Martyn. We have to be careful applying modern concepts like paedophillia on ancient peoples. Age of consent is a fairly recent idea (19th Century in England as I recall); and in those days children weren’t as valued – or valued in the same way – particularly girls. What Mo did is abhorrent to us now, but it would have been perfectly normal then. Christianity, for instance, doesn’t have a commandment, “thou shalt not abuse children,” yet it does have “thou shalt not kill.” Religious laws only cover a very limited set of values – it’s the secular world that protects the truly vulnerable. Which is ironic, if you listened to the platitudes wrought from the pulpits on a weekly basis.
Marc makes a good point, but overlooks the fact that Islam has dismally failed to catch up with ANY of the the human rights that civilised societies have developed over the last few decades. One example of how deeply mired Islam still is in its barbaric past is this is this fatwa from the late Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran’s spiritual leader: “A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, but other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man’s four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl’s sister.”
Khomeini also wrote in his book Tahrirolvasyleh (fourth volume, Darol Elm, Gom, Iran, 1990): “A man can have sex with animals such as sheep, cows, camels and so on. However, he should kill the animal after he has his orgasm. He should not sell the meat to the people in his own village; however, selling the meat to the next door village should be fine.
I do get what you mean Marc, but so many of these mental defectives still live by the rules of such ancient times with total disregard and contempt for the laws and rules of the countries they reside in.
