Its worth pointing out that some 80% of Dutch houses have cable, and the most basic cable package includes BBC 1&2. Failing that they can always catch it on Discovery which regulary shows BBC stuff.
I’m not entirely sure how this thing works out for EO. Are they the only PBS broadcaster allowed to screen it? Or the only one allowed to screen a Dutch version? Discoverly NL maybe broadcast for the Netherlands, but its still Discovery no? So it can show whatever discovery shows (indeed all it does is add Dutch subtitles).

Henk Hagoort is as correct as he is dumb. Man didn’t descend from monkeys. Humans are fucking APES not monkeys! So not only does he get his facts wrong, he gets his misrepresentation of the facts wrong too.

The BBC should be ashamed.

Not really – what they say about the Dutch and the English language is mostly true, so they can just buy the BBC’s DVDs (or download the series, but that would be naughty, of course).
