“Suck it, Jesus”

“Offensive” remarks made by US comic Kathy Griffin during an Emmy Awards acceptance speech will be cut from the telecast of the show.

Collecting her award for best reality program for her show My Life on the D-list, Kathy said:

A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus. Suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now.

Predictably, her speech drew fire from the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights president and wannabe Irishman Bill Donahue, who branded her remarks “hate speech”.

It is a sure bet that if Griffin had said, ‘Suck it, Mohammed’, there would have been a very different reaction.

He gurgled.

Griffin is unrepentant:

I hope I offended some people. I didn’t want to win the Emmy for nothing.

Why would an American comedian mention Mohammed? Do people who collect Emmys often mention Mohammed? Would the joke make any sense if it mentioned Mohammed? Or maybe Zoroaster?! Does Donahue actually understand the concept of humour? He can’t be a very good wannabe Irishman if he doesn’t.

I wonder what part of Ireland Bill Donahue is from 😛

  3. Trying so desperately hard to be noticed. Too bad that this will pass as yet another blip in the decline and eventual disappearance of her career and life on earth too. Hey Kathy, next year accept your award wearing a burkha. I’m sure that will be really cutting edge.

I think she got noticed already – that’s why they gave her an Emmy. Seems like her career is on the up.

Good on her for not following the usual sappy american line of thanking gaaaawd, and not being bothered about what all the mental defects think.

Somehow I don’t quite think that ColoradoRight is on the same wavelength as the regulars here. I’ll wait to be proven wrong.

    Marc,

I suggest you try clicking on their name & visiting their blog. You’ll find out!

For anyone who can’t be bothered, Indians,(from India rather than the US, just to avoid confusion) are referred to in one instance as “wogs”, and environmentalists are termed “eco-nazis”.

    Please draw your own conclusions.

Damn “right” Andy (pun intended). I just saw his view on abortion, but the name was a massive give away. Pity he doesn’t have the balls to come in here more often and get savaged for his views. Or maybe he will…
