Mo-Teddy causes consternation

A British schoolteacher working in Sudan has been arrested for allowing her pupils to name the class teddy bear Muhammad.

Apparently it was a completely innocent mistake. Nevertheless, there have been reports that men have started to gather outside the police station where she is being held.

What is the problem? Everybody knows that Mohammed is the most popular Christian name in the world.

A question for the original complainer and those gathering men: do you think that, as a result of your actions, the global count of stuffed bears called Mohammed will…
a) increase?
b) decrease?

Now go to your rooms and think about what you have done.

This is what gets me – you can call a kid Mohammed but not a fucking teddy! Besides, it was the kids who picked the name – they voted for it, not the teacher.

She’s also threatened with 40 lashes for this henious crime. Primitives.

Mohammed, a Christian name. I like it.

I’ve heard that many gentlemen have pet names for their trouser snake. Following the trend, my cock is now called Mohammed.

  4. bazmeister says:

Oh, come on Sean, show some respect for your dick! I say this because the original Mo was singularly under-endowed. How else could he have penetrated a nine-year-old girl bride?

  5. sean says:

Bazmeister, my member takes offence to your comment and is now preparing to take to the streets in protest. It feels it must stand up and be counted…

Right, where’s Rage Boy when you need him?

  6. marc says:

Following on from bazmeister I’d refuse to call my little man Mohammed in case he develops a taste for under-age girls…

I would never name one of my teddy’s after a paedophile. The woman should be forced to read The God Delusion.

  8. sean says:

Apparently, it was the children that named the teddy, and they chose to name it Mohammed after a boy in the class (a class of 7 years olds, incidentally).

There’s two versions floating about about who lodged the complaint: a. offended parents, or b. other teachers at the school with a grudge.

Further to that, I notice from the BBC message boards (where unsurprisingly, just about everyone supports her) that Shami Chakrabarti is notable for her silence. How bloody typical.

I have decided to address any pig I come across as Mohammed – most pigs stink, anyway.
