“Westies” are the latest to be banned from UK

The utterly witless Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has once again stepped in to stop “extremists” from entering the UK. This time it is the father and daughter combo from the hateful-but-hilarious Westboro Baptist Church – the homo-sex obsessed clan of Fred Phelps who like to picket funerals of US soldiers killed in action.

How the hell are we supposed to make fun of them if they aren’t allowed into the country?

Fun with Fred Phelps: The best way to deal with the Westboro Baptist Church

The Westies had threatened to picket Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke for staging The Laramie Project, a play about the murder of Matthew Shepard.

An idiot from the Home Office said

Both these individuals have engaged in unacceptable behaviour by inciting hatred against a number of communities.

The government has made it clear it opposes extremism in all its forms.

We will continue to stop those who want to spread extremism, hatred and violent messages in our communities from coming to our country.

The exclusions policy is targeted at all those who seek to stir up tension and provoke others to violence regardless of their origins and beliefs.

The government exposes extremism in all its forms – except for extreme stupidity, apparently. The WBC often threaten to travel abroad with their protests, but never deliver. All the government have succeeded in doing – yet again – is to give idiots a lot of free publicity and feed the persecution complexes which they believe vindicates them.

Good riddance to them, im not sure why you want nut jobs like them in the UK

The Home Secretary should have let this bunch of retards into the UK so everyone can see just how nasty and moronic they and their stupid religion really are. I expect Stephen Green will start ranting about the ban – persecution of christians etc.

Not to mention a Littlejohn column about how Smith bans anti-gay fanatics yet allows suicide-bomber endorsing Islamic mullahs in.
Still, the plus side is that at least the Phelps’s have been told to piss off and even if it does feed their persecution complex, who cares? They are so beyond deranged that nobody wants to be associated or seen to sympathise with them.

… Except possibly Green of course

How exactly can they be sure that their god is a non smoker?

Im unsure about this one. Normally I’d say they shouldn’t be banned; it is obviously repressing free speech. I realise that they are only planning on protesting a play, misguided but well within their rights, but its when they picket funerals that I strongly object to. Surely the rights of the bereaving family not to have a deeply distressing occasion disrupted horribly by these people outweigh the rights of their free speech on this occasion?

  8. Stuart says:

Not that his protests would work over here…. ‘God Hate Cigarettes’ is pretty uncontroversial

So how come the catholic leader Joey Ratzinger got an invite?

Well it is now March 4th and the silence from Stepen Green seems to have been quite deafening. Could it be that he has aligned himself with all those other “moderate” gay bashers who are cringing with embarrassment over the antics of this guy?

There’s a small part of me that wants them to come in, just so I can say my opinion of them to their faces. However it is best that the hate-filled lunatics are not allowed over here. Having seen the disruption they cause in the US – at people’s funerals even – I think the only way to avoid people being seriously offended and emotionally hurt in the UK is to keep them out. But oh… What I’d say to them if I could see them. I mean is there anyone they don’t hate? It’s so illogical it’s hillarious. How the heck can they say they’re carrying out Gods will? Yeah, maybe their own Gods, certainly not the God that Christians believe in.
