I stand suitably chastised, Ophelia. What makes my offence worse is that I’d already made a mental note of this after you chewed out some herbert or other on your blog for the same offence! In my defence, as my small child cannot look at George Bush or the Pope without laughing I’m not such a bad parent.
And anyway, accusing someone of rampant estate agency is probably quite enough to be going on with.

On the other hand – for the information of Stuart H – ‘twat’ in fact means cunt which means female genitalia. Swearing is one thing and sexist epithets are another. This is not widely accepted in the UK (witness ‘twattishness’ in the disclaimer!) but that is a blind spot.

I’d second that, j.r. Is there anything more likely to make you spout inappropriate language in front of small, impressionable kids than a fat, smug estate agent on prime time TV.
…..on the other hand, at least sprogs quickly learn from your purple face that ‘twat’ is shorthand for priests, politicians…. or other klingons who should be avoided like the plague!

It’s outrageous using disgusting language like that on TV, it is offensive to secularists. There are more suitable words she could use such as F**k & Bl**dy.

Call me oldfashioned, but if TV presenters can`t talk without constantly using expletives, then perhaps they should consider a different vocation!
