Beyer extends MediaWatch-UK remit

dailyrecord – BEEB’S £60M TAXI BILL
The BBC has spent 60m on taxis in the past five years, and John Beyer doesn’t like it:

This seems a vast sum to have been spent on cabs. All expenditure by the BBC should have to be justified because of the way it is funded.

Has all the recent public exposure gone to his head? Has the Beeb’s taxi bill become “an issue of taste and decency in the media”?

I can’t find anything on the revamped website which would suggest anything of the sort. But it’s nice to see that not all of the links are broken anymore – even if some of the images have disappeared.

What? That website has been revamped?

One 404 after the other, almost all because someone didn’t know the difference between a / and a \. That way I’m not surprised you weren’t able to find anything. After all you can’t find anything if you don’t get anywhere 😉

The funniest thing is, their website used to have a little note saying that if the links didn’t work, the user should change the to a / in their address bar (less complicated than fixing the HTML, obviously). But now in the “revamped” site, they have removed that notice. [slaps forehead]

There are some link ‘urls’ on the site which feature the delerious construction “/..” – looks like one of those weird Japanese smileys…

I loath Mediawatch UK and the way they try to remove the freedom of choice of people to watch anything that they find offensive. I have a group called mediasnoops which mocks our media moralm guardians if anyone’s interested.
Anyway I hope your site takes off and you can show Mediawatch UK and that loon John Beyer as the wackos they are.
Oh my group is a yahoo group.
