Satanic Verses published in Romania

The head of Romania’s Orthodox Church has condemned the publication of a translation of Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses. Patriarch Daniel said the book attacks the spiritual values and symbols of all religions.

Unsurprisingly, Iran has also poked its nose in and called for the book to be banned in Romania.

Hat tip Bartholomew, who also points us towards this video of Salman Rushdie getting his comeuppance from a flock of laser-beam-shooting Korans:

Beware infidels everywhere. Your time will come, inshallah.

Thanks for the plug. The embedded version of this video doesn’t work – you have to go to Youtube itself.

Looks like Youtube has bottled it – again.

Seems it’s OK to fuck with people’s copyright (until someone in high authority tells them to remove it) but when it’s a poke at Islam, it’s off like David Blunket’s trousers.
