Nobody to broadcast Fitna

No Dutch TV station is willing to broadcast Geert Wliders’ anti-Koran film, Fitna, although the majority of Dutch people believe it should be shown.

Wilders intends to put it up on his website later this month.

In some good news, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has told the Dutch PM that France will support the Netherlands should it come under attack as a result.

All well and great, but is it in English – or will it have subtitles. Not much good to us non-Dutch speaking thickos. ;-0)

Would it matter, its not like it will contain anything new, its being made for the benifit of Geert’s ego more than anything else.

@Passerby: I’d tend to agree that this is all a lot of hot-Wilders-air, but I’d like to see it nonetheless, if for no other reason that to see what all the fuss is about. However, I am not Dutch and so have only a limited grasp of exactly how full of crap Geert Wilders is.

  4. It’s another example of western self destruction, if you ask me. The only person I know that is willing to stand up to organisations such as Al Qaeda is Roy from Dog Judo… http://www.dogjudo.co.uk/
    Well worth a look.
    Cheers.

I understand from the trailers I’ve already seen that it’ll be in English AND Dutch, with subtitles.

Since Wilders’ party has one policy, which is that if Muslims like Mecca so much they should go and live there, it’s effectively a party political broadcast. No broadcaster would give unlimited editorial control to a politician, especially if the film is likely to sail close to the wind on broadcasting license issues.

The film shouldn’t be censored for criticising religion, and isn’t being; it’s a calculated demand so that he can throw his arms up and whinge about how political correctness is suppressing the truth that everyone wants to hear. He’s a right twat.

    Can we vote for dogjudo?

What I would love to see is Wilders announce that there is no film, just a demonstration of how far we have come since the Dark Ages.
